Prices as of 11:49 AM ET, Wednesday 21 October 2026. Options volume is the live session tape at the same moment. Everything below moves continuously and is sourced.
Tesla and Meta both report after the bell tonight, and both are trading higher into the numbers: Tesla up 3.22%, Meta up 2.46%. Yet for the second session running, neither name has a single contract among the 25 most-active options. The single-name tape belongs to two same-day Nvidia calls and one same-day Apple call, the Apple strike sitting a fraction of a dollar from spot and within a few dollars of its 52-week high.
| Ticker | Change | Price | Share volume |
|---|---|---|---|
| TSLA | +12.02 (+3.22%) | 385.73 | 21.57M |
| AMD | +15.88 (+2.97%) | 550.62 | 7.73M |
| META | +17.07 (+2.46%) | 711.32 | 6.90M |
| NVDA | +4.23 (+1.95%) | 220.70 | 37.50M |
| AAPL | +5.06 (+1.49%) | 344.56 | 12.59M |
| AVGO | +3.63 (+1.09%) | 338.00 | 5.39M |
| MSFT | +0.56 (+0.11%) | 532.43 | 4.86M |
| AMZN | −0.21 (−0.08%) | 262.42 | 13.25M |
| GOOGL | −6.82 (−2.00%) | 333.46 | 14.57M |
Seven of the nine are green. Alphabet is the outlier, down 2.00% and trading near the bottom of its $330.38 to $337.27 range for the day; Investrade's mid-morning note attributes the slide to weaker ad-trend commentary. Apple is the other name worth watching on this table: at $344.56 it is within about $3.60 of its 52-week high of $348.15. Nvidia again leads the group on share volume, with 37.50 million shares by late morning.
Twenty-five contracts make up the most-active list at this hour. Twenty-one are index products, thirteen on SPY and eight on QQQ, all expiring today. One is a SpaceX (SPCX) call. Three are Magnificent-group names. The right-hand column separates new positioning from old positions being closed.
| Contract | Last | Volume | Open interest | Vol ÷ OI |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AAPL 345 call, same-day | 0.90 | 111,899 | 9,050 | 12.4× |
| NVDA 220 call, same-day | 0.89 | 167,997 | 23,980 | 7.0× |
| NVDA 222.5 call, same-day | 0.15 | 161,955 | 24,512 | 6.6× |
The expiry comes from the contract symbols (AAPL261021, NVDA261021), which put all three on today, 21 October. Yahoo's expiration column shows a different date on this list, so the symbol is the one we trust.
The Apple contract is the striking one. Volume of more than twelve times the open interest that existed before the open is new, same-session positioning, and it is concentrated on the 345 strike with the stock at $344.56 and a session high of $345.25. The contract's last price of $0.90 is up 246% on the day.
Nvidia's pair is a different shape. The 220 call is roughly $0.70 in the money with the stock at $220.70, and the 222.5 call sits above the session high of $222.16. Both had open interest near 24,000 coming in, so a turnover ratio of about seven times is heavy but not extreme: more of today's volume is likely to be existing holders trading against fresh buyers.
Tesla and Meta report tonight. Tesla's release is scheduled after the close, with the conference call at 5:30 PM ET according to MarketBeat; Investing.com reported that options pricing implied a move of about 5.1% for Tesla after the release. Meta is confirmed for after the close per TipRanks, and Investrade's note lists both, alongside Lam Research, Texas Instruments, IBM and SAP, as the evening's tech reports.
Neither name has a contract in the 25 most-active list. That does not mean their options are quiet; it means the volume is spread across expiries and strikes rather than concentrated in one same-day contract. Contracts expiring today stop trading before either company reports, so the earnings exposure sits further out the curve, where it does not stack up on any single line of the tape.
The Nasdaq Composite is up 1.16% at 26,730.64 and the S&P 500 up 0.54% at 7,754.51. The Dow is up 0.29% at 52,650.59 and the Russell 2000 up 0.43% at 2,785.25. Investrade's mid-morning note credits the early lift in semiconductors to SpaceX's third-quarter results, which beat revenue estimates with $14.6 billion, and to Super Micro Computer raising its revenue guidance, which it says sent SMCI up 13%.
The 10-year Treasury yield is 5.11%, down 0.01 points. Gold is up 0.36% at $4,157.50 and West Texas crude down 0.97% at $96.87. The Cboe Volatility Index is down 4.22% at 16.58. On the macro side, the Mortgage Bankers Association composite index fell 5.3% for the week ended 16 October, with the 30-year fixed rate at 7.41%, per the same Investrade note.
Three observations, none of them a recommendation.
